“Blossom Day” is Chi-Kit’s take on the idea of the Spring season, paying homage to the Japanese anime aesthetic that influences Chi-Kit’s work. The explosion of colour spheres symbolizes the potential and possibilities during the season. The floating figure in the middle represents the awakening of spirituality and our connection to mother nature.
Chi-Kit Kwong is a Hong Kong Visual Artist and Professor of Illustration at Savannah College of Art and Design. His artistic style – inspired by Kon Satoshi and Jean Giraud – blends surrealist drawing techniques with Chinese fable and sci-fi anime imagery.
