Poly Gallery Hong Kong and Triumph Art Space are pleased to present Intermediate State - Solo Exhibition of He Jie from 3-18 November 2016, featuring his recent works of oil paintings. Born in 1976, He Jie is a representative figure among the cutting-edge artists, who is known for his unique style of works narrating human emotion states, spirit and desire as well as the reproduction of reality and material life. He Jie’s artworks always connect with memories, especially public events in history. Through portraying the impression of memories, he explored the metaphor between the impression and the reality. In the “Forever Mark” series, he illustrates the dramatization and stage of ideological scene that becomes a metaphor for recollection of historical scene and the present reality. “Forever Mark” can be understood as everlasting trace, scar and imprint as well as the ring of memory. This series of oil paintings convey a sense of mystery, gloom, fantasy and futurism like movie scenes, throughout his oeuvre, become his signature painting style.
